About Us

Gariné (ga-renée) Arakelian, a third generation artist, and Master Potter Rick Hamelin have been making pottery together since 1990. Gariné’s teaching, graphic design and museum background have come together in her pottery line, Kulina Folk Art. She also teaches creative art workshops at libraries, senior centers, museums and more.

Rick Hamelin began potting as a teenager, has worked in museums and runs his own pottery studio, Pied Potter Hamelin, along with being a popular demonstrator and lecturer. They reproduce traditional redware and the original work is influenced by folk art, animals, nature and every day objects. Rick and Garine share a studio and together they share their homestead, among the hill of central Massachusetts, with two cats and a flock of hens.
